Assistant Communications Manager at Inspire Her Afrika

Inspire Her Afrika is a dynamic women’s mentorship program dedicated to empowering young women through education, support, and guidance. We focus on providing resources and opportunities for personal and professional growth, fostering a community where African women can thrive. We aspire to be the foremost mentorship group for African women and to set the standard for empowering African women on their journey to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and executing communication plans alongside the Communications Manager to promote our programs and events.
• Managing and updating our social media platforms with engaging written and visual content
• Creating compelling visual and written content, ensuring it aligns with our brand and messaging guidelines.
• Monitoring media coverage and maintaining a media contact list.
• Providing administrative support to the communications team.
• Facilitating effective communication within the program team, mentors, mentees, and other stakeholders including sending weekly program updates via emails to the programme participants.
• Directing and guiding the social media ambassadors to create content.
• Developing marketing and promotional strategies for program events,
• Monitoring and analyzing communication metrics to measure the impact of our efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field with at least 2 years experience.
• Proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to analyze data and provide insights on social media trends.
• Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to translate complex ideas into engaging content.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Passion for women’s empowerment and a deep understanding of the cultural context in Africa.
