Job Summary:
The Assistant Technical Officer - Monitoring and Evaluation will provide support under the guidance of the Technical Officer in managing program data, ensuring its accuracy and completeness. This role involves data entry, validation, tracking, and reporting, all aimed at ensuring the successful implementation and monitoring of the program. The Assistant Technical Officer will play a key role in supporting the effective data management and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter program data into FHI 360 data management software for analysis and reporting.
- Identify missing data, follow up, and ensure timely completion of data entry tasks.
- Conduct basic data validation checks to ensure data quality.
- Organize and store both digital and hardcopy data files appropriately for easy retrieval.
- Keep track of received data and source documents, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Prepare, sort, and identify source documents for data entry.
- Interpret data to be entered and ensure accurate coding and classification.
- Provide regular updates on the status of data collection and entry processes.
- Ensure proper dissemination of data to stakeholders as necessary.
- Assist with other M&E-related tasks as required by the Technical Officer.
Minimum Recruitment Standards:
- A BSc in Statistics, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation or data management.
- Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, NGOs, and CBOs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of project-level or state/national-level monitoring and evaluation system implementation.
- Understanding of Nigerian clinical settings, including both government and non-governmental sectors.
Additional Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with other team members.
- Familiarity with data management software (such as FHI 360 or similar platforms).
- Ability to work independently and under supervision.
