Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT) was established by Pfizer Inc. for the people of Kano State in Nigeria with the purpose of conducting Bio-medical (and Healthcare) Research on communicable and non-communicable diseases of public Health importance in Nigeria and the African continent. The Centre also conducts programmes for workforce development in public health. Pfizer Inc. is fully funding the activities of the Centre through some Memorandum of Understanding which is projected to continue for the next several years.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct statistical analyses for various research projects.
- Collaborate with researchers to develop study designs, methodologies, and data and analysis collection strategies.
- Analyze large-scale datasets (e.g., clinical trials, epidemiological studies, etc.) using advanced statistical techniques.
- Interpret and present statistical findings in research reports and publications.
- Ensure data accuracy, quality control, and proper documentation throughout research projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field. A Ph.D. is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods commonly used in biomedical research.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working as a biostatistician in a research or healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, SPSS, or STATA.
- Experience working with large datasets and conducting advanced statistical analyses.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate statistical findings clearly to non-statistical audiences.
- Familiarity with data management and quality control processes.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python) is an advantage.
