Job Purpose:
- The Cloud and Automation Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s cloud infrastructure and automation initiatives. This role involves managing cloud services, implementing automation solutions, and ensuring that cloud operations are efficient, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud service providers, technologies, and architectures to optimize cloud resources.
- Create and maintain cloud governance policies and standards to ensure compliance and security.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the deployment, management, and optimization of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of cloud applications and services.
- Monitor cloud resource usage and costs, implementing cost optimization strategies as needed.
Automation Solutions:
- Design and implement automation solutions for cloud operations, including provisioning, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate automation into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Evaluate and implement tools and frameworks for infrastructure as code (IaC) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure that cloud environments adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Implement security measures, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring, to protect cloud resources.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud environments.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers and automation specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and resources to team members on cloud technologies and automation best practices.
- Conduct performance evaluations and develop individual development plans for team members.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and operations, to align cloud initiatives with business needs.
- Communicate cloud strategies, projects, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
- Participate in industry events and forums to stay updated on cloud and automation trends.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Uptime and availability of cloud services
- Cost savings achieved through cloud optimization and automation
- Speed and efficiency of deployment and provisioning processes

Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Professional) are preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience in cloud management, architecture, and automation.
- Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).
Skills:
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Preferred:
- Experience with DevOps practices and methodologies.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
