- The ideal candidate will use their passion for big data and analytics to provide insights to the business covering a range of topics.
- They will be responsible for conducting both recurring and ad hoc analysis for business users.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Data mining; digging deep into batches of data gotten from various departments and systems in order to spot patterns that may crop up.
- Data interpretation: go through data sources gotten from mining in order to interpret and draw conclusions.
- Report generation and presentation; weekly, monthly and quarterly client and company data mined and interpreted should be made into a report and presented.
- Proper maintenance of databases/data systems.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Working with programmers, operations team, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
Qualifications
- 2 - 3 years of proven experience working as a data analyst in the logistics, transportation or ecommerce sector.
- Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data
- Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, SAS to be used for data set analyzing
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, python
- Problem-solving skills
- Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations
- Team-working skills
- Verbal and Written communication skills
- Proven working experience in data analysis
