The Data Analyst plays a critical role in helping the organization gather, interpret, and use data to improve its programs, ministry outreach, staff performance, reporting, and strategic decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a heart for service, demonstrating a commitment to the mission of the organization
Data Collection & Management
- Design and maintain databases and systems for capturing program, volunteer, donation, attendance, and operational data.
- Work with teams to define data needs and ensure consistent collection tools across departments.
- Collect, clean, validate, and organize data from multiple sources (manual forms, online systems, spreadsheets, CRM). Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze trends, patterns, and performance metrics across departments (e.g., discipleship growth, outreach impact, financial trends).
- Prepare insightful reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support decision-making at leadership levels.
- Present data findings in formats suitable for non-technical staff, donors, or board presentations. Program & Impact Evaluation
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities, including pre/post-program analysis.
- Contribute to impact assessments for campaigns, projects, or new initiatives.
- Track and report key faith-based impact indicators such as conversions, community engagement, and church growth. Stakeholder Reporting
- Support stakeholders' reporting by extracting and preparing relevant data (e.g., number of lives impacted, outreach reach, event participation).
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting for grants, funding cycles, and partners.
SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
- Systems Improvement & Capacity Building
- Recommend tools, platforms, or software to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Train team members on data literacy and usage of tools like Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, or CRM dashboards.
- Collaborate with IT or Monitoring & Evaluation teams to streamline workflows.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, monitoring & evaluation, or program reporting (nonprofit experience preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio).
- Familiarity with data collection tools like Google Forms, KoboToolbox, SurveyMonkey, Airtable, or similar.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Passion for the mission and values of a Christian, faith-based organization.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with statistical tools or languages (e.g., SPSS, R, Python – optional).
- Understanding of project management and theory of change models.
- Capacity to work with confidential and sensitive information.
