About the Role
- As a Database Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our databases to ensure high availability, security, and performance. You’ll collaborate with our development and product teams to drive innovation and scalability as we continue to transform how Nigerians access healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize database architectures to support e-commerce operations and healthcare data.
- Develop, test, and maintain complex queries, stored procedures, and database scripts.
- Ensure database security, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor and improve database performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business and technical requirements.
- Support data analysis and reporting initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Database Engineer, DBA, or similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL, database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Knowledge of database optimization and indexing.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and modern database tools.
- Experience with e-commerce or healthcare data systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
