About the Role:
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Remote DevOps Engineer to join our growing team.
- The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and is comfortable with designing and implementing robust and scalable systems.
- As a Remote DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the creation and management of our CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring the smooth delivery of our software products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.
- Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management.
- Test implemented designs.
- Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
- Handle code deployments in all environments.
- Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve.
- Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations.
- Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery.
- Manage CI and CD tools with team.
- Document and design various processes; update existing processes.
- Improve infrastructure development and application development.
- Develop and maintain design and troubleshooting documentation.
- Participate in the on-call rotations, troubleshoot potential issues, and fix existing ones.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in CS, engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in working with Linux/Unix administration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with AWS, GCP, or other cloud services.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, JavaScript, Ruby.
- Experience in working with Docker containers and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
- Experience in managing CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, or similar.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience with monitoring and logging systems.
- Understanding of network protocols, DNS, VPN, Load Balancing and Firewall.
- Familiarity with software security and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a startup environment.
- Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer are a plus.
- Experience with serverless approaches using AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions is a plus.
- Experience with database technologies, including Relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) databases.
