All of which makes their lives easier and grows economies.

Job Description

This is a key role within the SSA Corporate Communications organization, advancing Visa’s business interests across West Africa via the deployment of effective internal and external communications. The Director of Communications will actively contribute to the overall development of the Regional CEMEA Communications function and agenda and serve on the leadership team of the West Africa business.

Principal Responsibilities/Key Results Area:

  • Proactively create and execute efficient and timely communications strategies that align with and support the regional business development priorities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets across West Africa in accordance with Communications strategy and protocols, with a particular focus on Tier 1 outlets. Become a key contributor to crisis/issues management in market/regions of responsibility.
  • Ensure Communications plays an active role in shaping the business agenda locally, raising awareness of the company, and improving its corporate reputation among critical audiences in each market in the West Africa cluster (as per internal measurement metrics).
  • Effectively manage agency/partner suppliers and coach them to excellence. Set goals for self and the agency team to deliver against the Communications strategy.
  • Develop effective integrated communications programs with government engagement marketing teams on major projects.
  • Partner and participate actively as a core member of the SSA Communications team and West Africa leadership team, advocating the overall communications agenda and function priorities.
  • Participate as a key advisor on effective regional employee engagement programs

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

  • Related Degree.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Marketing Communications including a senior management role.
  • Agency experience is beneficial.
