Job Description
- Provide technical assistance in the designing, installation, testing and maintenance of fiber optics cabling.
- Pulling and stringing wire/cable from pole to pole, laying cable and conduit in the ground where required.
- Conduct splice testing using power meters, OTDRs and other industry standard equipment.
- Entering manholes to retrieve splice enclosures where required
- Climbing and placing of poles and anchors.
- Undertake periodic preventive maintenance activities and ensuring effective fault management.
- Measuring the signal strength of internet connections to ensure that there is adequate performance.
- Creating sensors and performing inspections to make sure that the fiber optic systems do not have defects that could undermine performance.
- Conducting regular inspections of the systems with the aim of locating and repairing any defects detected during the inspections.
- Determining solutions to any problems and issues that are preventing the fiber optic systems from performing optimally.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess an FSLC / SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with 0 - 1 year work experience.
