- We are looking for a talented and charismatic Field Journalist and Corporate Communication Lead to create compelling content around real estate and infrastructure, present and host our media programs, and develop and implement effective corporate communication strategies.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in journalism, street-smart, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Journalism
- Investigate and report on trends, insights, and news within the real estate and infrastructure industries.
- Create engaging content through interviews, reports, and feature stories that showcase Afrihood’s core development Ideologies.
- Document and present Afrihood’s activities and initiatives, including project launches, community outreach programs, and events.
- Develop photo and video documentation of Afrihood projects to be used across media platforms.
- Collaborate with the creative team to produce high-quality multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, and blogs.
Corporate Communication
- Act as the primary host for Afrihood’s media programs, such as industry insights, community trends, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
- Develop and execute communication strategies that align with Afrihood’s brand voice and values.
- Manage and grow Afrihood’s social media presence by crafting engaging posts and campaigns that resonate with our audience.
- Draft press releases, newsletters, and other corporate communications.
- Represent Afrihood at industry events, conferences, and other networking opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with industry experts, community leaders, and media outlets to amplify Afrihood’s voice.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
- Provide timely and effective communication to both internal and external stakeholders about company updates and initiatives.
Media Program Hosting
- Host and present Afrihood’s flagship programs, including interviews, panels, and live events.
- Conduct research to prepare for media engagements, ensuring insightful and professional presentations.
- Engage with viewers and audiences to build a strong connection with the Afrihood community.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in journalism, corporate communications, or related roles.
Skills:
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing skills.
- Proficiency in digital content creation and multimedia tools.
- Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
- Adept at social media management and audience engagement.
- Knowledge of the real estate and infrastructure industries is a strong advantage.
