The position
- mDoc needs knowledgeable and dynamic problem-solvers to be part of the firm through its next stage of development. We seek a talented, motivated full-time Graphic Designer to collaborate with our creative team. He//She will work with the communication and marketing team and the broader mDoc to develop beautiful graphics to reflect the population we serve and help us expand our market.
- He/She will develop visual concepts, coordinate images with copywriters and art directors, and create visual assets for campaigns, websites, and printed materials.
- This role requires a highly creative and imaginative individual who can operate within the framework of our style and brand guidelines to produce original, provocative, and engaging visual content. You must have comprehensive, expert-level knowledge of Adobe Suite and related design software.
Responsibilities
- Design a clear, engaging graphic communication for print and web. This will include marketing/communication brochures, direct mail pieces, website and social media graphics, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials as needed by the team.
- Develop and maintain a consistent visual brand identity across all marketing channels.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Create visually appealing graphics, illustrations and layouts for marketing materials, including brochures, banners, posters, social media graphics and website assets.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to ensure our designs are innovative and relevant.
- Assist in photo editing for website & other print materials.
- Engage directly with team members during project briefs to ensure a unified, client-centred approach to visual solutions.
- Working within brand and style guidelines, deliver novel visual solutions that support larger campaign goals.
- Make recommendations on updating style guidelines where appropriate.
- Create specialized assets for use on social media, out-of-home installations, or wherever necessary.
- Conceptualize visuals based on requirements.
- Prepare rough drafts and present ideas.
- Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand.
- Use the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic.
- Work with copywriters and creative directors to produce the final design.
- Test graphics across various media.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or any related field
- Extensive portfolio of successful design work
- Comprehensive knowledge of design software, including Adobe Suite
- Experience developing strategic visual content for social media
- Experience with developing graphics, illustrations, videos, gifs and other creative materials for web, social and other digital platforms
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
