University Press PLC (UPPLC) was founded in 1949 under the name of Oxford University Press Nigeria, and has grown to become one of the oldest, most experienced and the Nation’s Foremost Publishers of materials for educational and for general reading. At incorporation as a public liability company in 1978,the Company’s name was changed to University Press Limited with anauthorisedshare capital of 8,000,000 Ordinary shares of 50k each. Quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on 14th August 1978, UPPLC has, on two occasions, won the prestigious Stock Exchange MeritAward in the service sector of quoted companies. It has also won, for two consecutive years, 1984 and 1985, the Concord Prize for Excellence in Academic Publishing.

Job Description

  • Developing concepts, graphic and layouts for products.
  • Work with other creative team members to produce digital contents.
  • Study design briefs and determine requirements.
  • Determining size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material, as well as font style and size
  • Review final productions for errors and ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and reflect given specifications.

Qualification & Required Skills 

  • B.A. or HND in Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Graphics or other related discipline with minimum of Second Class Lower or Lower Credit respectively.
  • At least three (3) years post-qualification experience in a similar position.
  • Proven graphic designing experience
  • A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Dreamweaver, Photoshop Adobe creative suite)
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of video editing, animation and presentations development.
  • A strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and eBook technologies will be an advantage
  • Applicants must be resident in Ibadan.
