Lemonade Finance (YC S21) is building a neobank for immigrants in North America & Europe. We provide our users with multi-currency accounts that allow them to hold, send, and receive money from Africa in any currency for their business and personal banking needs. There are over 10 million Africans living in North America & Europe who go through hoops and have to pay exorbitant fees to send money to their loved ones. We are constantly fighting for everyday Africans to be able to move their money freely around the world at no cost and with the best exchange rate they can find out there. We launched the first version of the app at the beginning of October 2020 with just the ability to send money. Now, we enable our users to send and receive as well as pay bills for services across the ocean for loved ones. We have also grown to a team of more than 25 people working remotely and living on different continents

About The Role:

  • As a Junior Graphics Designer, you are a gifted and imaginative person who has more than-average understanding of graphic design softwares and how to use them. You understand and have a basic understanding of composition, colour theory, and design concepts, which enables you to create aesthetically attractive and interesting images.
  • While you may not name your layers, you're able to organise your work in a manner that helps colleagues and collaborators find what they need at every time.

Job Summary:

  • The role of the Junior Graphic Designer is a remote position within LemFi's Marketing team. You will play a crucial role in supporting the design team and contributing to various projects.
  • As the ideal candidate, you should have experience creating content for marketing and brand storytelling outcomes. You will support LemFi's marketing expansion efforts in Africa, North America and Europe.

Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Collaborate with designers and other team members to ensure a consistent design and branding across all materials
  • Work closely with collaborators to ensure projects are completed on time
  • Stay up to date with the latest design trends and technologies
  • Ability to take graphic design materials from concept to completion while receiving feedback and revising as necessary.
  • A keen understanding of design for corporate, industry-facing creative design.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) is a must.
  • Organised and detail-oriented.
  • Effectively communicate project progress and any issues that arise with the team and collaborators.
  • Commit to continuously improving skills and knowledge through training, research, and experimentation to enhance the quality of work delivered.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a graphics designer with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Adaptability to global operational needs and ability to work in a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrable skills in file management and in using graphic design softwares.
  • Portfolio, showcasing your ability to create engaging graphics and typography.
  • Demonstration of an upward trajectory growth in skills
  • Compliance with the agreed brand design guidelines (colours & fonts)
