Position Description
- Navanti is seeking a Health Data Management specialist responsible for supporting the team lead in developing context-specific tools for engaging various stakeholders such as women ( first-time pregnant women, first-time mothers, postpartum women with infants (under one) , partners, and health managers. S/he will be responsible for analyzing the quantitative data, conducting multi-level bivariate and multivariate analysis of data from population-based studies including the 2021 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS 2021) to understand the determinants of health facility delivery among women of reproductive age. The health data management specialist will work with the team leader to conduct interviews, analyze the data, and develop the assessment report
- The team will use a combination of literature review, secondary analysis of population-based surveys, and qualitative data collection through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews to gather insights to answer the study questions, with a special focus on data from the six states representing the six geopolitical zones

- Akwa-Ibom, Ebonyi, Lagos, Borno, Kano and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Responsibilities
The Health Data Management Specialist will be responsible for analyzing the quantitative data, conducting multi-level bivariate and multivariate analysis of data from population-based studies including the 2021 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS 2021) to understand the determinants of health facility delivery among women of reproductive age
The Team Leader Will
- Participate in the RA kick-off session with USAID/Nigeria.
- Develop quantitative tools resulting from desk review
- Provides substantive technical input into the development of data collection tools, including survey and interview tools, and methodology for covering target states
- Support the data collection process, including conducting several KIIs and FGDs with stakeholders including women, health care providers, etc.
- Analyze data and present findings.
- Support in the presentation of preliminary findings on data collected from stakeholders' engagement and desk review
- Coordinates closely with other assessment team to ensure quality assessment
- Support the team lead in writing the draft assessment report with support from the team members, taking into consideration feedback from the Out-brief presentation.
- Respond to USAID comments on the draft report, incorporate USAID/Nigeria staff comments into the final version of the report , and finalize the report.
- Work collaboratively with team members throughout design, implementation, analysis, and report writing to complement each other's areas of expertise.
Qualifications
The candidate is expected to have the following qualifications :
- A minimum of six years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, learning, program evaluation design, data management and analysis, computer science, or a similar role.
- Strong experience in designing qualitative and quantitative data collection tools for health.
- Advanced degree in health data, statistics, mathematics, data science or related field.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods for health.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- S/he must demonstrate strong experience with data collection procedures, surveys, and analysis of data using statistical analysis tools such as SPSS or STATA suitable for a varied audience.
- Previous experience as a health data specialist in related evaluations, assessments, and research studies. USAID evaluation experience strongly preferred.
