Purpose of the Role:

As a Junior Software Tester at MyXalary Tech Limited, you will play a critical role in maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality software products. By conducting thorough testing, both manual and automated, you will be pivotal in identifying bugs and improving product reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed test cases to validate software against functional and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to identify, log, and track defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts.
  • Work with the development team to replicate and resolve issues.
  • Participate in design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

    • Demonstrates a keen ability to notice minute details and discrepancies in software outputs compared to expected results.

    • Has a solid understanding of how each phase in the SDLC impacts testing and overall product quality.

  2. Risk Management: Level 2 - Operational

    • Able to identify potential risks in software releases and communicate them effectively.

  1. Team Collaboration: Level 2 - Operational

    • Actively contributes to team meetings and collaborates with team members to enhance test case scenarios.

Technical Competency:

  1. Testing Tools and Techniques: Level 2 - Operational

    • Has working knowledge of software testing tools and methodologies and can apply them under supervision.

  2. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Level 3 - Intermediate

    • Able to investigate issues methodically and identify root causes effectively.

  3. Basic Programming/Scripting Knowledge: Level 1 - Basic

    • Understands basic programming or scripting concepts which can aid in automated testing scenarios.

  4. Quality Assurance Best Practices: Level 2 - Operational

    • Familiar with and able to apply industry-standard quality assurance practices and methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-1 years of experience in a software testing role.
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with automated testing tools is a plus.
