PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The job holder is responsible for overseeing LBS’s cloud computing architecture, on-premise server infrastructure, and critical business applications. This includes managing teams, implementing strategic IT solutions, and providing third-level support to ensure optimal service delivery. The role involves designing, optimizing, and securing IT systems for high availability and disaster recovery while driving technological advancements aligned with LBS’s strategic goals. Additionally, it ensures the effective operation, maintenance, and security of the school’s IT infrastructure to support business needs and enhance user experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/KEY JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:
System Management (60%)
- Robust Applications and infrastructure Monitoring to provide oversight of operations.
- Responsible for Identity management of systems and applications within the purview.
- Improvement initiatives with respect to ICT Server and cloud resources optimizations and minimizing downtime.
- Create policies, procedures and guidelines for cloud, server and applications, operations, data protection and system usage with respect to best practice.
- Prepare weekly reports on ICT infrastructure state and monitor ICT dashboard for potential bottlenecks.
- Ensure readiness of system and server infrastructure with respect to disaster recovery.
- Incident Management oversight of all systems within the purview.
- Analyze ICT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of appropriate cloud provider or on-premise infrastructure
- Continuously updating the School’s incident response and disaster recovery plans.
- Act as interface for ICT internal and external customers.
- Evaluate staff awareness and train them when necessary based on best practice.
- Act as one of the focal points of ICT disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Establish and maintain structures and procedures to provide timely, effective, proactive and efficient user support
- Act as a major custodian of the ICT service level agreement with external suppliers
Cloud Management(40%)
- Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (Virtualization, Storage, Operating systems, multi-tenancy, and elastic scalability)
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Lagos Business School’ cloud end-to-end architecture, including Google, AWS, AZURE and future providers, subscription, networking, provisioning, security and management
- Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services
- Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
- Ensures robust security management and privacy requirements are incorporated into cloud hardware, software and applications

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Server and Network Upkeep skills – Analyzing System Logs, System Tools, and Data. Administering Server Security Software and Controls. Creating, Modifying, and Updating Microsoft Active directory group policy. Experience with Windows Admin Center is mandatory.

EXPERIENCE
- A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related Technology/ Science disciplines.
- Minimum 5 – 9 years post-degree working experience in Enterprise system /cloud administration, with at least 3 years of managing a team or unit.
- Experienced using Linux OS
- Experienced with Dell Server management in an enterprise
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and monitor patch management
- Knowledge of firewalls, antivirus and IDPS concepts
- Experienced in installing security software and documenting security issues
- Performed ICT System Administration role in an enterprise infrastructure environment with above 200 Users.
- Experience using Microsoft Applications like Power automate, Sharepoint, PowerBI, Office365, Dynamics 365 e.t.c
