JOB PURPOSE:
- A Presales Solutions Architect is responsible for combining technical expertise with communication skills to build compelling solutions that align with customer business objectives, partnering with Account Managers to drive revenue growth and customer success.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides pre-sales technical consultation as a domain specialist (SME) for the design, engineering, sale, and implementation of sophisticated products, applications, and solutions.
- Collaborates with sales teams, vendors, and industry partners to assess product applications and ensure optimum solutions for new and existing customers.
- Develops and implements technical sales plans and proposals (RFP, RFQ) to grow Layer3's business in a driven and opportunity-filled sales environment.
- Originates and architects detailed design, engineering, and implementation specifications for next-generation networks and solutions.
- Showcases Layer3’s solutions during technical sales presentations, product demonstrations, proof of concept, and trial engagements.
- Builds, develops, and maintains strong relationships with customer IT decision-makers and industry partners.
- Delivers training and support to Sales team and Engineers.
- Continuously learns and stays ahead of industry and competitive solutions, products, and services.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Pre-Sales Systems Engineer with broad Service Provider and enterprise knowledge.
- Good understanding of Network, Security, Cloud, Compute, and Storage.
- Proficient with Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet configuration portals to build Bill of Material.
- Experience partnering with Account Managers and Professional Services peers to design solutions for SP and Enterprise customers.
- Broad knowledge of Service Provider business and technologies.
- Deep knowledge of core, edge, access, and backhaul routing, data center, virtualization, and edge compute.
- 3 to 5 years experience in technical/pre-sales role as Sales or Systems Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience designing/engineering LAN/WAN, Campus, Data Center, Security, and Metro Ethernet solutions.
- Experience implementing and operating mid-large-scale Campus and Enterprise Networking and Security solutions.
- Knowledge of Juniper product line, competitors, and vertical market use cases.
- Hands-on expertise across routing, switching, and security domains.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to learn quickly and apply new protocols and applications.
