The QA Engineer will be responsible for assessing software quality through manual and automated testing. The role will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches. In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications and systems work correctly. The role will also function as a team lead for the QA department
Job Details
Strategy & Planning
- Performs industry analysis to increase own awareness of quality standards and provides insights to the Quality Assurance team
- Develops and establishes quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles
- Prepares and delivers reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization
Operations (Quality Assurance)
- Ensures satisfactory service with customers at all levels (Business Analyst, Developers, and Management)
- Conducts internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established Quality Assurance standards for software development, application integration, information system performance, and corresponding documentation
- Supports and serves as a technical expert for Arca's in-house developed applications in all stages of development, testing, and production
- Conducts tests on computer software programs to make sure the programs perform properly and are easy to use. Determines weaknesses in the computer codes
- Ensures that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfil end- user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues
- Ensures proper documentation of all product and project activities
- Reviews new or modified programs, including documentation, diagram, and flow charts, to determine if the programs will perform according to user requests and conform to guidelines
- Ensures that regression tests are done for any existing products that have been enhanced to discover any bugs
- Makes recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers
- Oversees manual testing in situations where automated tests cannot be achieved
- Communicates application issues to the concerned development team for timely resolution
- Ensures PCIDSS standards are met through close monitoring of outputs
- Creates methodologies and processes for the collection and analysis of data for ensuring software, systems, and product quality
Operations (Systems Analysis)
- Direct the analysis of formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws
- Assists in the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications
- Conducts research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
- Makes recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers / engineers
- Communicates test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management
- Participates in developing, distributing, and coordinating in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications
Requirements
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information System Management or relevant discipline.
Professional Qualification:
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
Experience:
- Minimum of Five (5) years software testing experience
- Experience generating and executing tests using automated testing tools
- Able to work independently and as part of collaborative team
- Detail oriented and process focused
- Ability to think like a programmer (technical, logical)
- Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
