The company is seeking a young and energetic professional to manage the dissemination of agribusiness value chain through radio programs within Nigeria specifically for agrarian communities.

Job Summary:
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all on-air and digital programming to ensure alignment with the station’s agricultural focus. This includes content planning, scheduling, quality control, and audience engagement to deliver informative, educational, and entertaining programs for farmers, agribusinesses, and rural communities. The role requires strong leadership, creativity, and a deep understanding of agricultural issues to drive the station’s mission.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development & Strategy
- Design and implement a programming strategy that aligns with Himma Radio’s agricultural mission and audience needs.
- Develop and schedule daily, weekly, and seasonal programs (e.g., farming tips, market prices, agribusiness news, weather updates, expert interviews).
- Introduce innovative formats (e.g., call-in shows, field reports, farmer success stories) to enhance engagement.
- Ensure content is relevant, practical, and beneficial to smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and agri-entrepreneurs.
Content Supervision & Quality Control
- Oversee scriptwriting, editing, and production of agricultural programs for accuracy, clarity, and impact.
- Monitor broadcasts to ensure high audio quality, factual correctness, and compliance with editorial policies.
- Review and approve program concepts, scripts, and final edits before airing.
- Ensure compliance with NBC (National Broadcasting Commission) and other regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and mentor presenters, producers, reporters, and content creators to maintain high standards.
- Conduct regular training on agricultural reporting, storytelling, and audience engagement techniques.
- Organize editorial meetings to plan content, assign tasks, and track progress.
- Collaborate with the News Editor and Agric Current Affairs team for cohesive messaging.
Audience Engagement & Feedback
- Develop interactive segments (e.g., Q&A sessions, listener polls, SMS/WhatsApp feedback) to involve the farming community.
- Analyze audience data and feedback to refine programming and increase listenership.
- Represent the station at agricultural fairs, workshops, and community events to strengthen ties with farmers.
Revenue Generation & Partnerships
- Work with the sales team to create sponsor-friendly programs (e.g., branded segments, agribusiness spotlights).
- Identify partnership opportunities with agri-input companies, government agencies, and NGOs for funded content.
- Propose revenue-generating initiatives (e.g., paid farmer training programs, agricultural expos).
Digital & Multiplatform Expansion
- Oversee the station’s online presence (podcasts, social media, YouTube) to extend reach beyond radio.
- Repurpose radio content for digital platforms (e.g., short videos, infographics, farmer guides).
- Ensure synergy between on-air and online agricultural programming.
Reporting & Performance Evaluation
- Provide monthly reports on program performance, audience growth, and revenue impact.
- Track key metrics (e.g., listener numbers, engagement rates, sponsor satisfaction).
- Recommend improvements based on data and industry trends.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or related field.
- 5+ years in radio programming, preferably in agricultural or rural development content.
- Strong knowledge of farming practices, agribusiness, and rural economy.
- Excellent leadership, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in broadcast software (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Audition) and digital tools.
