The Role
- We're seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to architect and build the infrastructure that powers our betting platform. You'll design and implement highly available, secure, and scalable systems on AWS, ensuring our platform can handle real-time betting operations and financial transactions with reliability and performance. This is a senior technical role with significant ownership over infrastructure decisions and the opportunity to establish DevOps practices from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Architect and build production-grade AWS cloud infrastructure for our betting platform
- Design and manage Kubernetes clusters for containerized application deployments
- Build robust CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and rollback strategies
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for proactive issue detection
- Establish security best practices across infrastructure, including IAM, network security, and encryption
- Design and implement disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies
- Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining performance and reliability standards
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Mentor junior engineers and establish DevOps best practices across the organization
- Lead technical decisions on tooling, architecture, and operational processes
- Participate in on-call rotation for production incident response
- Create comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with engineering leadership on capacity planning and scaling strategies
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 6+ years of DevOps/infrastructure engineering experience
- Proven track record architecting and managing production infrastructure at scale
- Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route53)
- Strong experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and management
- Expertise building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of networking, security best practices, and Linux system administration
- Proficient scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Experience with incident management and troubleshooting complex production issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Highly Valued:
- Experience with fintech, payments, or gaming platforms requiring high availability
- Knowledge of database administration and optimization (PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Familiarity with security compliance standards and audit requirements
- Experience with message queues and event streaming (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS)
- Understanding of CDN configuration and DDoS protection
- Experience implementing zero-downtime deployment strategies
- Background with secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
- Track record at high-growth startups or top-tier tech companies
- Experience mentoring or leading DevOps teams
