AMECRON Nigeria Limited is an indigenous firm established and incorporated on the 26th of June 1980, under the companies and allied matters decree of Nigeria, 1968. Primarily set up, as a consulting Civil Engineering firm, the company served both the private and public sectors for a decade, before entering into the Oil and Gas industry in the turn of the decade (1990).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, and deploy telecommunications systems including VoIP, PBX, fiber optics, microwave, PAGA, UHF Radios, Local Area Networks and wireless networks.
- Lead the planning and execution of telecom infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues before handover to operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate telecom systems with IT and business applications.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new telecom technologies and solutions.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of telecom protocols (e.g., SIP, SS7, MPLS), network design, and routing/switching technologies.
- Hands-on experience with telecom hardware and software from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Aviat, Alcatel, HP-Aruba, Motorola, Avaya).
- Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
