Purpose of the Job

  • The Team Lead, Facilities is responsible for the management and maintenance of the companys asset portfolio, ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
  • The role involves providing leadership in operations and maintenance for data centers and network facilities, ensuring the highest levels of operational excellence, KPI targets, and cost efficiency.
  • This position also oversees the acquisition, management, and upkeep of network facilities and physical infrastructure, including data centers and Base Transceiver Station (BTS) sites.

Key Responsibilities

Data Centre and Environment Management

  • Ensure effective management of all data center operations, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Negotiate with service providers to deliver efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Implement and oversee heat, smoke detection, and fire suppression systems.

Capacity and Property Management

  • Ensure 99.5% power and cooling availability at all data centers and central office locations.
  • Manage collocation and facility contracts, enforcing penalty clauses where necessary.
  • Conduct capacity planning and reviews to drive infrastructure efficiency.

Stakeholder and Contractor Management

  • Organize monthly governance meetings with service providers to review performance and address areas for improvement.
  • Manage contractors to ensure service delivery aligns with contract terms and oversee timely processing of payments.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning

  • Develop and implement business continuity plans (BCP) and disaster recovery plans (DCP) for infrastructure sustainability.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure statutory compliance of assets and services.
  • Innovation and Process Improvement

Requirements:

  • Minimum Of 4 Years' Experience In Telecommunications Operations Management.
  • Proven experience working with multiple suppliers/vendors/partners.
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing FM strategy, plans, and systems.

Educational Qualifications:

  • University degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science (minimum 2.2/Upper Credit).

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in telecommunications operations management, with 4+ years of experience in operations support, installations, and commissioning.
  • Advanced knowledge of mobile telecommunications network architecture and data center management.
  • Proficient in project management, report writing, and creating presentations.
  • Strong negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.
