Summary:
- We are looking for an experienced and creative video editor to join our team!
- The video editor at our company captures, edits, and produces photos and videos for internal and external purposes.
- You should be able to create and follow an outline, script, or shot list and assemble the footage into one cohesive video or film.
- You will also create the best output by cutting and connecting various footage, adding sound effects and graphics, and fine-tuning the completed video or film.
- To be successful in this role, you should possess a wealth of pertinent marketing and storytelling experience, along with experience in keeping up with the trends and new practices of the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an overall video brand messaging strategy
- Capture industry-standard quality photographs and video
- Create and capture briefs to grasp the editorial team’s needs and specifications
- Consult with stakeholders from production to the post-production process
- Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing
- Assembling raw footage defined by a script or outline in line with the company’s brand values
- Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs
- Manipulate and edit film/video pieces in a way that ensures creative and logical sequencing and smooth running
- Regularly collaborate with the editorial and digital team
- Liaise with other departments to stay updated on new marketing and storytelling initiatives, and product and service developments, and to ensure brand consistency.
- Attend networking events or relevant industry workshops.
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and the industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
Requirements:
- Passionate about the Marie Claire brand.
- A degree in marketing, or any relevant field, is required.
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter)
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut)
- Experience with doing audience personal research
- Ability to develop the right voice for each social media platform
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Understanding of graphic design principles
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing
- Creative mind and storytelling skills
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity
- BS degree in film studies, cinematography, or a related field
