Job Description
- We are looking for a video editor who will be responsible for creating thumbnails, assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the production director.
- To ensure success as a video editor, you should have expert knowledge of modern video editing techniques, be able to visualize directorial concepts and work according to a strict time schedule.
- The candidate also should have knowledge of graphic design and simple animation.
Job Responsibilities
- Manipulating film and video footage using modern editing techniques.
- Maintaining continuity while moving shots according to scene value.
- Trimming footage and putting together the rough project.
- Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects.
- Creating thumbnails.
- Capture studio-quality photographs and video
- Work both on and off-site
- Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing
- Take charge of video ideation and creation
- Clipping videos for social media platforms like youtube, facebook. Tiktok and Instagram.
Qualifications
- B.Sc or Technical certificate is needed
- Candidate must have 2 - 3 years working experience as a video editor for social media handles especially youtube.
- Must be able to create thumbnails
- Must have a portfolio of jobs done as a video editor with proven track record.
- Must be skilled at clipping videos for other social media platforms like tiktok, Instagram and facebook.
- Knowledge of podcast production is required.
- Familiarity with video editing software like Final Cut Pro, Premiere Proand adobe after effects
Requirements:
- Graphics design and animation knowledge is a plus
- Capacity to communicate effectively

- Ability to pick out attention-grabbing shots
- Excellent storytelling skills
- Knowledge of basic editing principles
- Creative thinker
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge and a good understanding of motion graphics is preferred.
- Candidate must be willing to work on Saturdays (sometimes)
- Must have a laptop. desktop and a backup power supply
