Purpose of Position
To take ownership of the School’s online presence. The job holder is entrusted with ensuring the optimal performance and functionality of the websites . The role involves responsibilities, including managing and maintaining web properties, implementing improvements, and enhancing user experience. The successful candidate is expected to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) that directly contribute to the overall success of the organization’s digital presence. Essentially, the purpose is to have a skilled Webmaster who can effectively oversee, enhance, and maintain the organization’s online platforms to meet strategic goals and provide excellent user experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/KEY JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include but not limited to the following:
- Ensure the overall health, functionality, and security of company websites.
- Achieve 99.9% website uptime, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
- Oversee the creation, updating, and deletion of web content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Implement a content management strategy that results in increase in user engagement.
- Monitor and optimize website speed, aiming for a load time of 3 seconds or less.
- Implement strategies to achieve improvement in overall website performance.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for different business functions.
- Set targets for KPIs and track performance against goals.
- Conduct regular UX audits and implement improvements to enhance the overall user experience.
- Achieve increase in user satisfaction scores through user feedback and usability testing.
- Implement SEO best practices to achieve increase in organic search traffic.
- Monitor and improve website rankings, aiming for improvement in search engine positions.
- Implement robust security measures to safeguard against cyber threats and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Achieve a 100% compliance rating in data protection and privacy regulations.
- Address and resolve technical issues promptly to achieve reduction in website-related support tickets.
- Implement preventive measures to minimize future technical disruptions.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Proven experience as a Webmaster or in a similar role
- Proficiency in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Strong knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and web analytics tools
- Experience with SEO best practices and web security measures
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field
Professional Qualification
- Relevant Webmaster Certification.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 6 years in a Webmaster related role
