Royal Blue Contractors is one of the leading input distribution Company in the agricultural value chain in Nigeria. We are involved in trading and selling of fertilizers such as Urea, NPK (15:15:15, 12:12:17, 20:10:10), Organic and liquid, various other agro-inputs including certified seeds, and agro-chemicals such as compost, insecticides and herbicides. Over the last 12 months, the company has traded Urea fertilizer through its distribution channels to the tune of 210,000 tons amounting to NGN 26,600,000,000.00 (Twenty-six billion six hundred million naira) which made us a leading distributor of the input products in Nigeria.

Job Summary

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for building the visibility of the WECAN Forum, managing the platform’s reputation, developing, and driving advocacy and communications coalitions toward its objectives, and promoting its brand among target audiences both in Northern Nigeria and Africa.
  • S/he is responsible for amplifying the thought leadership of the WECAN Forum in ways that help define and advance the continental agenda, continuously promoting actions, policies, programs, and investments that are essential for achieving the WECAN.
  • S/he is responsible for designing and implementing WECAN Forum’s communications outreach in electronic, print, and broadcast media, in social media, and audio-visual media. He/she is responsible for close coordination with other senior management to ensure effective advocacy and communications efforts aligned with WECAN Forum’s.

Key Relationships:

  • Internally: Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, HR, Operations, others and all staff in other depts.
  • Externally: Stakeholders, CBOs, Actors / Media

Primary Responsibilities

  • Asses the existing communications initiatives and make suggestions for improvement;
  • Develop a communications strategy for the sector and set clear objectives;
  • Manage the SNV agriculture website and ensure it is up to date with regular news items, relevant publications and attractive stories about our work.
  • Contribute agriculture content (stories) to corporate publications such as the annual report, magazines, brochures, leaflets and video’s.
  • Manage production of professional level publications and key communications materials including annual reports, newsletters, brochures etc. Where appropriate use professional writers.
  • Increase SNV’s presence on the web and social media;
  • Foster good working relationships with media agencies, relevant correspondents and journalists;
  • Leverage on conferences, workshops and events to profile SNV;
  • Take the lead in the planning and implementing of high profile events for the Sector;
  • Support knowledge networks and their members in the production of compelling messages and success stories;
  • Support advocacy initiatives by coordinating appropriate audience research, compiling and analyzing relevant data, preparing materials (e.g. films, videos);
  • Support internal knowledge sharing and profiling of SNV’s work in Agriculture through the internet.
  • Draft speeches for senior management team and prepare effective public presentations
