Duties
- Inspect site and run a short general survey of previously installed equipment and map out plan for their installation.
- Identify materials, check they are delivered in good condition and confirm rectifier cabinet, modules, BUBs, and accessories are complete for the installation.
- Check materials are delivered on right plinth position.
- Locate old rectifier/Power System, check DC load cable requirement for the swap, decommission old rectifier in cage (where applicable) and replace with a new rectifier cabinet.
- Secure and install new outdoor hybrid rectifier cabinet/Power System, breaker and battery cables, modules, Li-Ion Batteries, earthing cable, and signals.
- Check DG, Oil level, water level, default cable terminations, and other parts. Install all cables according to the manufacturer guide before cranking, test run DG works fine.
- Complete Power System and DG installation before site power swap.
- Install tank with accessories (where applicable), check fuel line, hose, clips, and alignment. Check for leakages, guide, and route cables neatly.
- Cutover quickly to avoid power break and downtime.
- Test and commission, check link, configurate site equipment to work according to design without strains.
- Report task completion and take inventory of all decommissioned materials
- Follow up with site team next day about the installation done and monitor performance for two weeks
Requirements and Competencies
- BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering ideally with a specialization in power systems
- At least 5 years of related experience in power systems (engineering part).
- Strong understanding of power electronics topologies (DC/DC, DC/AC, & AC/DC).
- Proficiency in power systems software tools
- Familiar with renewable energy systems, inverter controls, protection settings, substation, and line designs
- Experience on solar projects and/or grid projects
- Experience in Li-Io Technologies
- Experience in the tendering phase
- Entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative nature
