Artist Relations & Operations Manager at UnitedMasters

UnitedMasters is a new music industry alternative that provides independent artists with premium music distribution services, a suite of tools to help them directly connect with fans, and opportunities for unique partnerships with some of the world’s biggest brands including the NBA, Bose, and iHeart.

What You'll Do

This hire will work closely with the local leaderships and Artist Operations team in the headquarters (US) throughout the process of signing, launching, paying and supporting artists in Nigeria.

  • Manage relationships with distributed clients
  • Manage local release communication and logistics, ensuring content is delivered in a timely manner and to the required specifications using our technology systems.
  • Collaborate with artist and internal departments to help create and execute release development plans and strategies.
  • Support opportunities to grow artist partnerships in the region.
  • Liaise with all internal departments (from finance and marketing to legal and management) to ensure artist business needs are met, as the primary point of contact externally to the artist and internally representing artists interests.
  • Responsible for verifying audio, video, metadata, and artwork in accordance with UnitedMaster's content guidelines and style guide conventions.
  • Utilize UnitedMaster’s internal data and analytics tools to inform marketing and sales decisions
  • Ensure the global sales and marketing organization has all the assets to properly solicit and market priority releases.
  • Enhance and support the Marketing and A&R initiatives.

  • Skilled in communicating, presenting, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to build productive internal and external relationships proactively.
  • Innovative thinker who challenges the status quo and suggests efficient workflows.
  • Adept at explaining tech and business concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Quickly grasps new technologies and complex concepts.
  • Curious and solutions-oriented, driven to find value-added opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+  years of experience in digital music distribution.
  • Results-driven, target-oriented, and proactive.
  • Background in a label, distribution company, or music service platform managing catalogs, frontline releases, and relationships.
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize under tight deadlines, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Passionate about music and the industry, with the drive and enthusiasm to excel.
  • Experience in a role that requires coordination, attention to detail and thoroughness 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for music, and improving outcomes for independent artists
  • Knowledge of trends and key stakeholders within the music business
