Job Description
- We're seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our innovative team at Syx Labs, a pioneer in blockchain and AI solutions in Africa.
- As a Backend Developer, you'll lead the development and maintenance of our backend services, APIs, and applications, driving technical excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Work with frontend developer and product designer to deliver quality work
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code in languages like nodejs, typescript.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of backend services
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in backend development with good expertise in nodejs, typescript and python
- Ability to use automation software such as Retool Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience with containerization (Docker), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and agile development methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a logical and methodical approach
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Self-starter, and able to work independently without much supervision.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven design, and service-oriented architecture
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases and caching mechanisms
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, or other DevOps tools
- Participation in open-source projects or personal coding projects
