Kaiglo online marketplace aims to improve ecommerce activities addressing issues of trust, reliability and efficiency in the system. Kaiglo Stores limited was founded and registered in 2018 under the CAC act.

Role Overview

  • Kaiglo is hiring a Backend Engineer to build, scale, and stabilize its e-commerce platform. The role focuses on backend services that power vendor onboarding, payments, orders, logistics, and overall platform performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain backend services using Java (11+) and Spring Boot
  • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs for web and mobile apps
  • Manage and optimize MongoDB databases
  • Integrate third-party services (Paystack/Flutterwave, logistics, SMS, email)
  • Implement Redis caching and support Kafka event-driven processes
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, and security
  • Monitor, debug, and resolve backend issues using Sentry & Elasticsearch
  • Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA teams
  • Support logging, monitoring, and performance improvements
  • Run background jobs and scheduled tasks

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–4 years experience as a Backend Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs
  • Experience with MongoDB, Redis, Kafka
  • Payment gateway integration experience
  • Knowledge of JWT/OAuth2 authentication
  • Experience with AWS (S3, SES) and Git
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Nice to Have

  • E-commerce or marketplace experience
  • Docker, CI/CD, Spring Cloud
  • Elasticsearch, observability tools
  • SMS gateway and mobile app support experience
