Job Summary

  • The Chief Information & Technology Officer (CITO) is responsible for transforming the organization's technology, data strategy, and information security programs.
  • This role involves influencing and aligning with the organization’s strategic goals to define, design, and implement optimal customer and employee experiences.
  • Key responsibilities include leading a team of skilled business technologists, technology designers, data professionals, and IT experts, and fostering relationships with internal business units and industry connections.
  • The CITO will demonstrate strong vision, creativity, and leadership to navigate the rapidly evolving business and technology landscape. Additionally, this role oversees daily technology, information security, and data operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals.

Essential Functions

  • Design and drive technology, data, and information security innovation and transformation across the organization to achieve an optimal customer and employee experience.
  • Maintain an architect-level understanding of technology systems with a commitment to developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining quality software products and systems.
  • Lead the growth of the business by focusing on revenue generation, customer experience, digital operations and strategy, innovation, and employee efficiencies through technology.
  • Create and maintain the vision, strategy, and roadmap for technology that supports the strategic goals and promotes a culture of quality, speed, agility, and innovation.
  • Build relationships to evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for delivering products, services, and employee experiences through collaboration with departments and business units.
  • Champion the use of disruptive technologies that yield financial benefits, provide competitive advantages, or significantly enhance customer or employee experiences.
  • Develop and maintain a strategy for optimizing the use of cloud technology and active legacy systems.
  • Identify innovative technology opportunities and solutions for delivering products and services by understanding technology trends and applying them to the business.
  • Promote the achievement of the business goals by developing guidelines for technological innovation.
  • Continually improve internal processes and implement appropriate metrics to demonstrate cost-efficient solutions.
  • Manage the ongoing development and execution of the enterprise-wide information security program, acting as or overseeing the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies, as well as applicable industry-specific regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure the effective execution of disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
  • Lead a technology group to create a culture of collaboration that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and a focus on customers.
  • Develop and build a strong and competent team that positively embraces change and is respected throughout the organization and the industry.
  • Develop and build a reliable, standardized data architecture that can be leveraged across the organization for data visibility and customer insights.
  • Communicate the technology strategy to key stakeholders and provide input on decisions regarding new solution/products, services, and capabilities.
  • Ensure technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.
  • This position may require travel within and outside the geographic area.

Experience & Education

  • 10-12 years’ experience in demonstrated track record of creativity, flexibility, and initiative in developing and transforming customer technology/service experience.
  • Experience building technology solutions that meet employee and customer needs.
  • Successful leadership of high-performing technology teams, preferably in financial services.
  • Recent experience with formulating and defining strategic technology plans and leading transformation.
  • Experience leading and driving strategy for data architecture, and information security teams.
  • Prior experience in developing, deploying, and/or converting mission-critical cyber security services, software, systems, or applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, IT Management, Computer Engineering, or another technology-focused discipline.
