About the job
The CTO will lead the Bank’s digital transformation agenda, technology strategy, and IT operations. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, enhancing customer experience through technology, ensuring robust system security, and aligning technology initiatives with overall business goals to position the Bank as a leading digital-first microfinance institution in Nigeria and Africa.
- Define and execute the Bank’s technology vision, strategy, and roadmap in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation in digital banking products, channels, and processes to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, core banking systems, and digital platforms, and ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience.
- Enforce strong security protocols, data privacy measures, and disaster recovery frameworks to protect customer and institutional assets.
- Explore and implement fintech partnerships, AI, blockchain, cloud, and other emerging technologies relevant to financial inclusion and banking.
- Ensure technology operations comply with regulatory guidelines, data protection laws, and other applicable standards.
- Manage technology vendors, service providers, and fintech partners to deliver value and maintain cost efficiency.
- Build and mentor a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and accountability.
- Leverage data and digital tools to personalize customer experiences, improve service delivery, and drive adoption of digital banking solutions.
- Work closely with all Department Heads to align technology with business goals and growth plans across Africa.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- Minimum 10–12 years in IT/technology leadership, with at least 5 years in an executive role within banking/fintech/digital financial services. Proven track record of leading digital transformation.
- Strong understanding of core banking systems, digital banking platforms, cloud computing, API integration, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and data analytics.
- Strong strategic thinking, change management, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
