Sirri Care Foundation (Sirri Care) is a Non-Governmental Organization that was founded in 2019 and incorporated in 2020 with the mission of empowering, preventing and protecting vulnerable communities. We strive to impact positive developmental change in subaltern societies through Advocacy and Awareness creation, Education, Healthcare and Research.
Location: Based in Mubi (Working across Gombi and Maiha LGAs)
Duration: 6 Months with the possibility of extension subject to availability of funding.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of Sirri Care communication plans and strategies.
- Create promotional and communication materials which involve brainstorming ideas and developing newsletters and other publications.
- Develop content for Sirri Care social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other platforms as directed) and strategies to increase followership and engagement.
- Respond to direct messages/comments on social media and monitor feed for relevant content development.
- Collaborate with internal teams and maintain open communication with senior management.
- Build positive relationships with stakeholders, media, and the public.
- Support programme staff in incorporating and integrating advocacy into all aspects of Sirri Care programme activities, strategy and budgeting.
- Create media Content relating to Sirri Care thematic areas
- Actively network with peers from other like-minded organizations involved in the response, and lead on developing joint field-based advocacy towards target audiences.
- Draft and deliver necessary reporting documents related to the advocacy, communication & media strategy/strategies, including Advocacy and media
Key Messages.
- Develop and maintain a media network with international and local journalists and advise on media engagement.
- Identify target audiences and create tailored messaging for different stakeholders.
- Coordinate the design, printing, and distribution of promotional materials.
- Analyze social media metrics to track engagement and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Maintain an organized database of publications and collateral.
- Ensure that all content adheres to the Sirri Care brand and messaging guidelines.
The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive, and the position holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Degree in communications, public relations, English, journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience in communication, media relations, or public relations roles.
- Strong writing, editing, graphics design, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in using communication tools, including social media platforms and content management systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in an NGO.
- Experience in leading the development and implementation of advocacy and communication strategies.
- Experience in managing digital communications and social media activities for an organization.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Communications and interpersonal skills.
- Team player
- Expert knowledge of English.
