Job Summary
- Global Peace Development (GPD) seeks a dynamic and experienced Communications Coordinator to lead and manage all organizational communications and media-related functions.
- The ideal candidate will develop and implement communication strategies that will enhance GPD’s visibility, amplify its voice, showcase its impact, and strengthen engagement with partners, donors, stakeholders, and the public. This role requires someone with strong writing and content creation skills, media relations experience, and a passion for social impact storytelling.
- The position is based in Abuja but may require occasional travel to GPD project locations.
- The role requires candidate with excellent content creation, design, media relations, and branding skills.
- The Communications Coordinator will also be responsible for designing GPD-branded materials, including banners, notepads, flyers, and content. Proficiency in CorelDRAW is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all media related activities.
- Support update of GPD’s website and social media platforms with engaging content (stories, photos, videos, infographics, etc.).
- Collaborate with program teams to document and disseminate project success stories, human-interest pieces, reports, and newsletters.
- Produce and edit internal and external communication document, including annual reports, and policy briefs.
- Monitor media coverage and engagement to assess the impact of communication strategies.
- Support proposal development and donor reporting with relevant communication inputs.
- Design high-quality visual materials such as banners, flyers, notepads, branded documents, and other print and digital content.
- Use CorelDRAW and other design tools to meet GPD’s branding and communication needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in communications, media relations, or public affairs, preferably in the NGO or development sector.
- Proven experience managing digital communication platforms and creating multimedia content.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and design software (Canva, Adobe Suite, WordPress, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across teams and diverse stakeholders.
