We are looking to hire a reliable and well-experienced Communications Specialist to join our capable team of professionals.
The communications specialist will be responsible for creating and executing communication strategies to promote Agbeyewa Farms' mission, initiatives, and products. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent writing skills, capable of managing internal and external communications, media relations, and digital content creation to enhance our brand visibility.
Job Description
- Develop, write, and edit various types of content, including press releases, newsletters, blog posts, social media updates, and website copy.
- Manage media relations, plan and coordinate company events, including press conferences, product launches, and community outreach activities.
- Work with the Marketing team to oversee the management and growth of the company’s social media presence by developing engaging content, increasing audience engagement, and monitoring trends.
- Draft and distribute internal communications such as memos, emails, and announcements.
- Support the development and maintenance of the company intranet and internal communication channels.
- Monitor media coverage and industry trends and provide insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product teams, and other departments to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice.
- Conduct research to support communication strategies and measure the effectiveness of communication efforts.
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives and optimize strategies accordingly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and content creation tools.
- Proven experience in managing media relations and digital marketing strategies.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with agricultural or rural development sectors is a plus.
- Passion for storytelling and promoting positive narratives.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders, employees, and media.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
