A diplomatic mission is a group of people from one state or an international inter-governmental organisation (such as the United Nations) present in another state to represent the sending state/organisation officially in the receiving state. In practice, a diplomatic mission usually denotes the resident mission, namely the office of a country's diplomatic representatives in the capital city of another country. As well as being a diplomatic mission to the country in which it is situated, it may also be a non-resident permanent mission to one or more other countries. There are thus resident and non-resident embassies.

Duties

The incumbent reports directly to the Senior Computer Mgt. Specialist and indirectly to the ISO. Incumbent is specialized in applications support and is also tasked to administer all applications and LAN Core Server Systems. The incumbent provides direction and guidance to 4 ISC staff on general customer service operations and acts as team lead on assigned projects. Incumbent Performs systems Analysis for ISC, acts as a trainer, Application systems specialist, analyst, and systems administrator for OpenNet core servers, DIN Network and Database.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, primarily of a technical nature, at least one of which should have been as an analyst, database designer/manager, and/or programmer on complex computer systems is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft IT industry standards and IT business practices is required. Technical knowledge of Advanced IT procedures in Medium to large-sized LAN operations is required. Incumbent is required to have thorough good working knowledge of the local Internet service providers (ISP) for fiber, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and vendors processes. Works with local contractor Internet Service Provider, in the network administration/troubleshooting of the VPN or DIN network, to ensure the Mission is receiving quality internet bandwidth.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, or Information Systems Management is required.

Note: NYSC Certificate or Exemption/Exclusion document is required.
