Our client, a Pan-African organization investing in the inclusion of Women, is looking to hire a Creative Designer who plays a pivotal role in crafting visually captivating designs for diverse digital and print platforms. Responsibilities include conceptualizing innovative design solutions aligned with brand identity, managing multiple design projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery, collaborating on brand image maintenance, and contributing to creative strategies tailored to target audiences. The role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, fostering creativity, and contributing to impactful visual communication initiatives.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following functions:

Graphic Design

  • Conceptualize and craft visually captivating graphics for diverse digital and print platforms.
  • Develop innovative design solutions aligned with brand identity, ensuring a cohesive visual representation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design websites and apps, meeting project requirements effectively.

Branding

  • Contribute to establishing and preserving a consistent brand image across various mediums.
  • Ensure alignment of visual elements with brand guidelines, collaborating closely with the communications team.

Project Management and Collaboration

  • Lead and oversee multiple design projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining top-notch quality.
  • Coordinate with the communications team to comprehend design needs and objectives accurately.
  • Efficiently prioritize tasks, meeting deadlines while upholding superior design standards.
  • Provide constructive feedback and incorporate inputs from team members to enhance designs effectively.

Quality Control

  • Perform thorough quality checks on design deliverables to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Research and stay updated on emerging design trends and tools to infuse fresh creativity into projects.
  • Iteratively refine designs based on feedback and review processes to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain an organized file management system for easy retrieval and utilization of assets.

Creative Strategy

  • Contribute to the formulation of creative strategies aligned with the organization's goals and audience preferences.
  • Tailor designs to resonate effectively with specific target audiences, enhancing engagement and impact.

Communication

  • Effectively communicate design concepts and rationales to non-design stakeholders, facilitating understanding and buy-in.
  • Collaborate with external vendors or agencies for specialized design requirements.
  • Assist in the development of design templates and style guides to streamline workflows and maintain consistency across communications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in graphic design or a related field.
  • Certification or training in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or relevant design software.
  • Proven track record/portfolio showcasing innovative and visually appealing design solutions.

Must have skills

  • Strong video editing skills to create compelling visual content.
  • Exceptional creativity and ability to conceptualize visually appealing graphics.
  • Project management expertise, managing multiple tasks with a focus on quality and timely delivery.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough quality checks on design deliverables.
  • Adaptable and up to date with design trends, techniques, and emerging tools.
  • Ability to align designs with brand guidelines and target audience preferences.
