Job Summary:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support mining operations by collecting, verifying, and analysing production and operational data. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used for reporting, decision-making, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and input daily production metrics, including ore tonnage, ore grade, recovery rates, and waste volumes.
- Transcribe data from handwritten field notes, reports, or logs into digital formats using spreadsheets or mining-specific software.
- Maintain up-to-date records on equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Verify data accuracy by cross-referencing source documents and conducting routine checks.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with operational teams such as engineers, supervisors, geologists, and surveyors to resolve data gaps or discrepancies.
- Ensure secure storage, backup, and confidentiality of all operational data in compliance with company policies.
- Assist with internal audits and quality control by providing timely and well-documented records.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mining Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data management tools; experience with mining software (e.g., Surpac, Micromine, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Familiarity with mining operations and production processes is an advantage.
