Role Overview: 

  • As Data Ops Manager, you be responsible for analyzing data related to retail/agency operations, customer behavior, and market trends to drive data-informed decision-making and optimize retail strategies for maximum growth.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization, with experience in the retail industry and a solid understanding of the sports betting business.
  • The Data Ops Manager would lead a team of Junior data analysts and will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, payments, customer experience and finance, to provide actionable insights that support the company's agency objectives and drive business growth. 

What You Will Be Doing:  

  • Lead the development and implementation of data-driven growth strategies in Agency operations  
  • Conduct data analysis on agency operations data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth optimization.  
  • Develop and maintain predictive models and algorithms to forecast agency performance, and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.  
  • Model out commission & bonus structures to deliver the best value.  
  • Design and implement experiments and A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of various agency strategies, Bonus promotions, and initiatives, and provide recommendations for optimization.  
  • Create and deliver clear and actionable data-driven insights, reports, and visualizations to stakeholders, including retail operations teams, marketing teams, and executives, to drive data-informed decision-making.  
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for retail operations, establish data tracking mechanisms, and monitor performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvement.  
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and generate insights to support retail initiatives, such as pricing analysis, promotion effectiveness, and Agent segmentation.  
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics and retail to continuously improve data analysis methodologies and techniques.   

What You Need for This Role:  

  • 7 + years experience in Analytics  
  • Solid SQL & Python skills – ability to query and transform data for analytics using SQL, Python  
  • Python or similar data coding skills is  an advantage.  
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business dynamics and turn this understanding into key metrics and dimensionality.  
  • Experience working in a Microsoft BI environment (Power BI, SSAS) a strong advantage.  
  • Experience with self-serve BI toolsets (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Looker) and web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) an advantage. 
  • Experience with experimentation techniques and technologies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create innovative data visualizations that succinctly communicate key insights.  
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of data sources, with ability to extract valuable insights.  
  • Experience with a sports betting business a strong advantage. 
  • Track record leading a team and helping others to grow their own analytics skills and career,  
  • Ability to present the results of work to stakeholders across the business, including senior leadership team; strong communications skills.
