Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related incidents and requests.
- Manage and resolve 1st line support type queries.
- Troubleshoot and triage network and other complex infrastructure issues to ensure relevant subject matter expert is engaged to resolve.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and software installations as required.
- Provide support for printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Ensure configuration information for hardware and software items is maintained within the Technology Business Service (TBS) configuration management database.
- Support local Office 365 issues and request and escalate to correct partners as required.
- Maintain incident logs and provide regular reporting to the IT Manager.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of new local hardware and software.
- Conduct regular maintenance and backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Provide end-user training and support to improve the user experience.
- Collaborate with other BizTech and ABF Teams to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
- Look for opportunities to automate and improve manual infrastructure processes and operations.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to learn and understand the core production systems and how they integrate with the wider infrastructure technology.
- Provide base cover for I.T. Manager for holiday and sickness.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a desktop engineer role.
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science
- Ability to travel between the 3 TONL Sites
- Excellent technical knowledge and experience of supporting of PC hardware and peripherals.
- Excellent technical knowledge and experience of supporting Microsoft Windows OS suite.
- Experience of working in FMCG or Manufacturing would be beneficial
- Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
- Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
- Skilled communicator at all levels in written and spoken English
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
- Exposure to thin client technologies.
- Experience of working within an ITIL framework.
