Digital Content Strategist at International Breweries

International Breweries Plc was incorporated in December 1971 by its founder and first Chairman, Dr. Lawrence Omole under the name International Breweries Limited. The Company commenced production of its flagship product Trophy Lager in December 1978 with an installed capacity of 200,000 hectoliters per annum. Following the increasing demand for its products, in December 1982 the Company embarked on an expansion programme to increase its capacity to 500,000 hectoliters annually. The company was listed on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange in April 1995.

The key purpose of this role to develop and execute innovative creative strategies that drive engagement, elevate brand impact, and align with business objectives. This includes leveraging audience insights, crafting compelling narratives, leading creative campaigns, ensuring brand consistency, and optimizing performance through data-driven decisions while fostering collaboration and inspiring innovation across teams.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative strategies that align with business objectives, brand values, and market trends.
  • Craft and communicate compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.
  • Generate ideas for campaigns, content, and brand activations that push boundaries while delivering measurable results.
  • Conduct market research and analyze data to understand audience behavior, cultural trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities to inform creative solutions.
  • Use insights to create customer personas, journey maps, and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, writers, marketers, and production) to execute creative campaigns.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to generate original ideas and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Oversee the creative development process, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the brand’s voice, tone, and positioning to ensure consistency across all creative touchpoints.
  • Propose new ways to elevate brand storytelling and identity through innovative channels and approaches.
  • Measure the success of campaigns and initiatives, providing actionable insights for future improvements.
  • Use KPIs to track creative performance and optimize strategies based on outcomes.
  • Act as the bridge between creative and business teams, translating creative concepts into practical strategies and deliverables.
  • Mentor and inspire team members to think strategically and creatively in their work.
  • Strong understanding of creative processes, storytelling, and branding, Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and turning insights into creative opportunities.
  • Ability to think conceptually while delivering results-driven strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital and social media platforms, including emerging technologies.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A curious mindset with a passion for culture, trends, and innovation.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in diverse teams.
  • Highly adaptable, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A keen eye for detail and quality assurance in creative output.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Min. of B.Sc./HND in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) or any related discipline.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a creative strategy, brand planning, or related role in an agency or in-house environment.
