The Public Affairs Officer is responsible for managing government relations, public affairs, and external communications to support the company’s operations and reputation. The role involves liaising with government agencies, monitoring policy developments, coordinating public engagement activities, and ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Liaise and cooperate with relevant government agencies, including the Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), to obtain company qualifications, approvals, licenses, and documents such as Certificates of Origin.
  • Manage media relations, monitor public opinion, and support initiatives that enhance and protect the company’s reputation within the region.
  • Monitor local policy and regulatory developments, assess their impact on company operations, and provide timely compliance guidance and recommendations to management.
  • Organize and support public engagement activities, corporate events, and community relations initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with federal and state government departments, regulatory bodies, external agencies, and local communities to promote and safeguard the company’s interests.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Affairs, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in government liaison, public affairs, or public relations roles.
  • Fluency in English and local Nigerian languages (such as Yoruba); strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of professional ethics, integrity, and good moral character.
