We are looking for a talented GIS Analyst with experience in Fiber to the Home (FTTH) projects to join our telecommunications team. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and managing spatial data related to FTTH network planning, design, and deployment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS, telecommunications, and network planning.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with network planners and engineers to develop GIS-based plans for FTTH network expansion and optimization.
- Analyze demographic, land use, and infrastructure data to identify potential deployment areas and prioritize network investments.
- Acquire, integrate, and maintain geospatial data including fiber routes, customer locations, and network infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain GIS databases to ensure data accuracy and accessibility for network planning and design.
- Assist in the design of FTTH network layouts, routes, and connectivity using GIS software and network design tools.
- Conduct spatial analysis to optimize network design for performance, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
- Conduct field surveys and data collection to verify existing infrastructure, assess site conditions, and gather accurate geospatial information for network planning.
- Document GIS workflows, methodologies, and data sources for FTTH projects.
- Generate reports, maps, and visualizations to communicate project status, progress, and findings to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Geography, Surveying, Engineering, Town Planning
- Previous experience working on FTTH or broadband deployment projects.
- Knowledge of spatial database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL with PostGIS) and scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and data analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of GIS, mapping tools (QGIS, Carto, ArcGIS)
- Geoserver, database programming (SQL, Python),
- GPS measuring tools,
- Web applications (HTML, JavaScript, CSS),
- PostGIS, PostgreSQL, DuckDB.
