Role Summary

  • We’re seeking a strategic and creative Head of Brand & Marketing to lead Pastel’s storytelling, visibility, and growth efforts.
  • You’ll shape how Africa experiences Pastel — defining our voice, leading campaigns, and building a brand that inspires trust, innovation, and connection across fintech, AI, and enterprise ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy: Define and execute Pastel’s brand positioning, voice, and messaging across all channels.
  • Marketing Leadership: Develop annual marketing plans, manage budgets, and oversee multi-channel campaigns.
  • Public Relations & Thought Leadership: Drive media engagement, founder visibility, and strategic storytelling.
  • Demand Generation: Partner with Product and Sales to create campaigns that generate qualified leads and revenue growth.
  • Team Management: Lead the marketing team (content, growth, design), mentoring and enabling excellence.
  • Analytics & Insights: Track performance metrics, report marketing ROI, and continuously refine strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Sales, and Data Science teams to align messaging and go-to-market efforts.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure unified visual and verbal identity across product, digital, and offline materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in marketing or brand leadership within B2B tech, SaaS, or fintech.
  • Proven record of executing growth-driven marketing strategies.
  • Excellent understanding of brand development, digital strategy, and data-driven marketing.
  • Experience managing small, agile teams and external vendors.

Technical Skills

  • Marketing automation & analytics (HubSpot, Google Analytics, LinkedIn Ads).
  • SEO and content strategy.
  • Campaign planning and performance tracking.
  • Familiarity with design and collaboration tools (Figma, Canva, Notion).
