Our client, a technology solutions provider, is currently seeking a Head of Technology with strategic leadership skills to join their dynamic team. He/She will oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and innovative technology platforms that support the microfinance bank’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement technology strategies and solutions that align with the business objectives of the parent company\'s digital banking platform.
- Ensure the seamless integration of technology to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Lead the integration of third-party APIs and partnerships to enhance the platform functionality and customer offerings.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of software engineers, IT analysts, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
- Drive talent acquisition and retention strategies to maintain a skilled and motivated technology team.
- Collaborate with the Finance team of the parent company to manage budgets and ensure that technology investments are cost-effective.
- Oversee IT governance, ensuring compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and industry standards for data security and privacy.
- Act as a key liaison between the technology team and the Managing Director, ensuring transparent communication and alignment on strategic goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and technology providers to support the company\'s objectives.
- Develop and implement IT risk management policies to mitigate cybersecurity threats and ensure business continuity.
- Collaborate with the Head of Risk & Compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Lead the technical implementation of innovative financial products, such as earned wage access and bill payment solutions, to enhance customer experience and financial inclusion.
- Champion a customer-centric approach by leveraging technology to simplify processes and reduce complexities associated with traditional financial services.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a fintech, technology, or financial services organization.
- Advanced degree (MSc or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record in leading technology teams and delivering scalable, innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of microfinance operations, digital banking, and regulatory requirements in Nigeria (CBN regulations).
- Experience with agile software development methodologies and modern technology stacks (e.g., Java, JS, Python, Django, or similar).
- Exceptional strategic planning, financial management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
