Job Description

  • We are seeking a talented and experienced Information Technology/Computer Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure and systems to support our engineering operations in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • The candidate should have a solid understanding of computer engineering principles, networking, cybersecurity, and software development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement IT solutions and systems to support engineering operations, including network infrastructure, hardware and software applications, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, network devices, and other IT equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Manage and troubleshoot issues related to computer systems, networks, and software applications, providing timely resolution and technical support to end-users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and operations, to understand IT requirements and provide customized solutions to meet business needs.
  • Monitor and assess IT infrastructure performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to optimize system efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices to protect company data, systems, and networks from security threats, malware, and unauthorized access.
  • Conduct regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and contingency measures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in IT and computer engineering, and make recommendations for technology adoption and innovation.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to end-users and IT staff to enhance their understanding of IT systems, tools, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and industry certifications in IT and cybersecurity.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT engineering or related roles, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Strong technical skills in computer engineering, networking, systems administration, and cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, scripting tools, and software development methodologies (e.g., Python, Java, C++, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, virtualization technologies, and containerization (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and other network security technologies.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks and methodologies (e.g., ITIL, Agile, DevOps) is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or relevant industry certifications are a plus.
