Responsibilities
System Administration:
- Manage and maintain various server operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Configure, monitor and optimise network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Implement and enforce robust security policies to protect the network and data.
Technical Support:
- Provide timely technical support to end-users (hardware, software, network issues).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, including cyber security threats.
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of IT equipment.
Network Maintenance:
- Monitor network performance and identify potential security vulnerabilities.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., patching, and updates) to enhance security.
Cyber security:
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
- Implement and manage security tools (e.g., antivirus, intrusion detection systems).
- Respond to security incidents and breaches effectively.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with the IT team and other departments on IT projects, ensuring that best practices for cybersecurity are followed.
- Assist in implementing new IT systems and technologies with a focus on security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT administration or a similar role, with a strong focus on cyber security.
- Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network infrastructure.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving, especially related to security threats.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, Security+).
