The Nigerian Chamber of Shipping was formed in 2002 with the primary objective of ensuring that the domestic shipping industry participates fully in all commercial services in the Nigerian Coastal Waters and beyond.

Job Description

  • Provide first-level technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues With network connectivity and Other IT-related problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on systems and software.
  • Assist in setting up new user accounts, workstations, and email systems.
  • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems through regular updates and backups.
  • Manage and update the Nigerian Chamber Of Shipping's website, ensuring content is current and engaging.
  • Ensure timely creation of content for all Governing Council members and important stakeholders' birthdays and events
  • Implement website enhancements and improvements to optimize user experience.
  • Monitor website performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure website security.
  • Work together With the Membership and Admin Officer to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase the organization's online presence and engagement.
  • Create, schedule, and publish content across various social media platforms (eg„ Facebook,Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Youtube).
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage With the audience.
  • Design visually appealing graphics, infographics, and Other visual content for digital and print media.
  • Create cornpelling written content for website and social media posts, newsletters, press releases, and Other communications.
  • Collaborate With the Membership and Programs team to develop and implement content marketing strategies.
  • Ensure all content aligns With the organization's brand and messaging guidelines. Hard Skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in using digital communication tools and social media platforms.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
  • Strong knowledge Of computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Experience managing websites, preferably With CMS platforms like WordPress and PHP.
  • Skilled in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or Corel draw).
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part Of a team soft Skills
  • Mature, Pragmatic and flexible approach
  • Team player but comfortable working autonomously
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
