Level 1 Software Engineer (Technical Support) at Rovedana

Salary: 400,000 Naira Net Monthly

Job Responsibilities:

  • Basic Troubleshooting: Respond to user-reported issues by diagnosing and resolving common software problems.
  • Incident Assessment and Response: They assess the severity and impact of reported incidents and prioritize them based on urgency to avoid service disruption.
  • User Assistance: They guide users on how to use the software, navigate features, and troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Ticket Management: Log user inquiries and issues, and update ticket status while ensuring timely resolution.
  • Documentation: Update knowledge base articles, FAQs, and user guides to reflect resolved issues and best practices. Based on this good practice, we have seen tremendous improvements in our resolution time.
  • Escalation: Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Level 2 support or higher-tier specialists.
  •  License usage and renewal: they monitor licensing and renewals to avoid disruption of business operations.
  • User onboarding and off-boarding: as this is a high-risk area, we keep a close eye on this to avoid unauthorized access to software and applications.

Key Requirements:

  • HND/BSc; qualifications in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science or any relevant courses.
  •  A minimum of 1-3 years work experience as a software engineer or level 1 technical support engineer.
  • Previous experience working with a notable IT consultancy company is preferred
  • Familiarity and the use of any of the following technologies/tools;
  • Web Applications: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, Angular
  • Backend Development: Java, Python, Node.js, ASP.NET
  • Database: SQL (MySQL and PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB), Oracle
  • DevOps: Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Grafana, AWS, MS Azure, Google Cloud

Platform

  • Good customer relationship and communication skills
  • Technical problem solving skills
